The protection the sword gives means that not only can your opponent not target the creature with spells and abilities, much like Hexproof, but also means that their creatures, planeswalkers, and other permanents cannot interact with it either

This card would be good at 2 mana and EDH-playable at 3

Since they dont use a colored mana symbol, they can go into any Commander deck to provide an off-color basic land type, which could be interesting for domain or converge strategies outside 5-color shells

On the fair side of things (well outside of limited), it can also do a single Blaze type effect with X damage to anything, possibly burning out an opponent or one of their creatures

Certianly the spot removal aspect of this hits a wider range of dorks than Shreikmaw but you can't do it for two
